“LuckyMe Goes out of business”

monthly subscription site LuckyMe closes down

LuckyMe, the United Kingdom online gambling site owned by Harrahs, posted significant losses for the past year. The owners have decided to discontinue operations and have closed down the company.

David Strow, a spokesman for Harrahs said the decision to close down the online gambling site was made because the site was losing money. The amount of last year’s loss totaled 9.3 million dollars, according to industry officials at SignOnSanDiego.com. In addition, cash prizes paid out ranged somewhere between $8.5 and $1.7 million.

LuckyMe offered gamblers access to an unlimited number of games as long as they purchased a monthly subscription. LuckyMe was the only gambling site with such a service to its customers. The cost of a subscription was anywhere between $17 and $84 a month and this allowed players monthly access to online Bingo and other online casino games.

Another feature of LuckyMe was the identification process that automatically excluded players from the United States and other countries where online gambling is illegal.
