"GWIN Inc. Signs Letter of Intent to Enter International Online Poker Business"
Combination of GWIN and Live Cast Media to hit Internet with new online poker.
A letter of intent has been signed by the only publicly traded sports handicapping
company in America, GWIN Inc. with Live Cast Media, LLC (LCM) to enter the online
poker business together. The announcement came from the CEO of GWIN.
LCM provides some of the most advanced, state-of-the-art services to
Web platforms worldwide. LCM provides complete online gaming services,
including marketing and multimedia and has been a global operation with
locations in Asia, the United Kingdom, and North America for the past
two years.
The combination of the two companies will allow their new online poker
businesses WARPoker.com and WARPoker.net to capitalize on the image and
name of Wayne Root, GWIN’s CEO. This, together with GWIN’s
database of gamblers and media properties and, at the same time, using
LCM’s expertise at creating, supporting, and operating the poker
Web sites should prove highly successful. Wayne Root has produced sports
and gaming programs and is well known for his ability to develop and market
sports handicapping advice and information via television, radio, and
the Internet.
The two new sites, WARPoker.com and WARPoker.net take their name from
Root’s initials, WAR (Wayne Allyn Root), which will hopefully give
players a positive association with the sites. WARPoker.com will not take
wagers from American citizens where online gambling is illegal or from
citizens of any other country where the activity is deemed illegal. WARPoker.net,
in contrast, will be a fun and prizes only site and will focus on the
U.S. market where this type of online gaming has already proven to be
very popular. The WARPoker.com site, on the other hand, will focus on
countries in Asia and Europe where online gambling is not prohibited.
GWIN CEO Root commented, in a statement about the two new sites, “Now
is the time to capitalize by branding WARPoker.net as the site to play
for fun and prizes here in the U.S. market. I’ve spent 19 years
on American television building my image, credibility, name recognition
and growing the WAR name as a brand. Poker has become one of the most
popular forms of gambling and poker shows have become among the most popular
shows on television from “World Poker Tour”, on Travel Channel
to “World Series Poker” on ESPN, to “Celebrity Poker
Showdown” on Bravo.”
“It is clear that many, if not most of my sports gambling audience
have become poker players – whether serious or just for fun. I believe
that my name and brand can have an impact on poker with a payoff as large,
or even larger, than it has for sports handicapping advice. GWIN is in
the perfect position to capitalize on the success of poker, because of
the large number of sports gamblers who are poker players and already
familiar with the WAR name.”
David Mitchell, director of Live Cast Media expressed similar confidence
in the WARPoker sites. “We are very excited about the opportunity
of developing, supporting and marketing Wayne Allyn Root’s (WAR)
poker sites. The key to capturing a portion of these profits is through
the intelligent use of brand awareness and marketing. The Wayne Allyn
Root name and GWIN’s media properties, advertising and marketing
exposure are powerful tools for attracting audiences to both WARPoker.net
and WARPoker.com, not only in the United States, but worldwide. The growth
of Poker is phenomenal and it is an incredible profit generator, not only
in the United States, but around the world.”
